Biodiversity and poverty are both major global challenges. Biodiversity worldwide is under threat from human activities and climate change – but measures to protect biodiversity frequently come into conflict with the needs of poor communities. IIED researchers are exploring the complex relationships between biodiversity conservation, poverty reduction and sustainable development.
