Engaging FFPOs for impact at scale: proposed protocol for engaging forest and farm producer organizations (FFPOs) at different levels in Dryland Sustainable Impact Program (DSL IP) country project field and policy actions

This briefing paper has been produced to share with in-country teams within the six child projects of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Dryland Sustainable Landscapes Impact Programme (DSL IP) for strengthening the inclusive engagement of forest and farm producer organisations (FFPOs) for impact at scale, to ensure the participation of those living on the land whose restoration GEF is targeting.
The paper is structured into the following three sections: section 2 looks at the rationale for working with and through FFPOs to achieve land degradation neutrality in the DSL IP context; section 3 outlines a framework to explain the variety and useful linkages between different types of FFPO; and section 4 outlines a protocol for including the best suited types of FFPO in child project field and policy actions.
