Current work

Tucker is particularly interested in intersectional approaches to urban poverty and inequality and seeks to understand how excluded communities organise and interact with the state to effect change. His current work pursues a paradigm shift in infrastructure investment in Latin America.

Collaborating with local communities, governments and international development organisations, the action-research uses participatory planning methods to pilot sustainable infrastructure that reduces greenhouse gas emissions as well as economic and spatial inequality.

Pivotal to the work is the research and follow-up that integrates lessons learnt into local and national policy and infrastructure planning to scale up and replicate the interventions.
