Climate Change and Health in West Africa
This paper describes the impacts of climate change on health in three countries in West Africa: Benin, Mali and Mauritania. The population of West Africa inhabits a range of biogeographical zones, from humid zones to arid ones. This diversity guarantees a relevant sample of the West Africa context and its diversity. A range of diseases have been investigated in the three case studies. They reflect the most important and urgent public health problems to treat at local community scales as well as sub regional or national scales.
