We are an independent policy research organisation based in the UK and active in five continents through an extended network of partners. And as a growing organisation, we are often on the lookout for professional and creative people with a passion for our mission. Find out more about IIED.

IIED's Shaping Sustainable Markets research group is seeking a principal researcher to lead IIED's work on the ocean and blue economy. Our inclusive blue economy research programme reviews the use of innovative economic solutions to address the challenges facing the fisheries sector and support healthy marine and coastal ecosystems and resilient communities.

Overseeing research and project teams, the post-holder will direct the design, development and implementation of the research programme. The successful candidate will have wide-ranging research experience, a highly regarded publication record and a track record of securing funding for large projects (project value of £1 million and above) from a wide range of donors. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2020.

IIED is also seeking a senior consultant to develop and then lead IIED’s advocacy and engagement on its ‘triple agenda’ – nature, climate and development – of policymaking and programming.

The triple agenda policy lead role is currently intended to be a part-time role, covering the next 18 months in the run-up to the planned biodiversity and climate Conferences of the Parties (COPs) in 2021. However, it may expand to be full-time in the next few months, with an additional closer focus on climate change diplomacy. The deadline for applications is midnight on Saturday, 30 May 2020.
