The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is currently advertising an opportunity for a monitoring, evaluation and learning technical advisor, a coordinator, an assistant coordinator and a consultant/senior consultant.

The Strategy and Learning Group is seeking a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) technical advisor (climate and environment)

The role will be responsible for improving IIED’s capacity to use appropriate and research methods to better understand the effectiveness of sustainable development, with a focus on climate and environmental policies and interventions. They will also contribute to the development and application of innovative MEL and research methodologies for sustainable development. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, 23 November 2018.

The group is also recruiting a coordinator for the business development team. The team is responsible for all aspects of liaison with institute-level donors; support to research groups in managing relationships with existing funders; implementation of IIED’s fundraising strategy, plus review and improvement to the strategy as required; and exploration of new business opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a strong support role in a busy, varied and interesting environment. You will take ownership for ensuring the smooth running of the group’s areas of responsibilities. You will provide support to ensure the effective delivery of administration, finance, communication and events organisation. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 28 November 2018.

The Natural Resources research group is seeking an enthusiastic assistant coordinator who enjoys providing wide-ranging administrative and logistical support. The post holder will assist and work closely with the group and team coordinators in the group in their management of finances and contracts, communications and events, and broader administration and logistics. This post is particularly suitable for candidates interested in a career path in project management and may be extended beyond 12 months subject to funding availability.

To succeed in this role you must have solid experience in a busy office, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software and some experience of financial administration. Your experience will also include organising meetings and events, and assisting in the production of digital and print communication outputs. You will be able to multi-task, have lots of initiative and flexibility, great attention to detail, and enjoy working with a team and with little supervision. The deadline for applications is Sunday, 2 December 2018.

Finally, the Climate Change research group is seeking a senior consultant and/or consultant on a five-month fixed-term contract to work across or lead (senior role) an exciting range of projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with more than ten years of experience (senior consultant – including in managing and leading projects and teams), or five years (consultant). 

The role includes working on workshops with a range of policymakers to deliberate on research findings and develop policy messages. The deadline for applications is Saturday, 24 November, 2018 – but we’ll consider applicants on a rolling basis so, in this instance, please send your CV to Susannah Fisher (susannah.fisher@iied.org) as soon as possible. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible to be based in London or to be able to travel to London regularly.
