IIED is a policy and action research organisation. We promote sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. We specialise in linking local priorities to global challenges. IIED is based in London and works in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific, with some of the world's most vulnerable people. We work with them to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them – from village councils to international conventions.

The Climate Change research group is looking for two highly skilled individuals to develop and lead a research and outreach portfolio in at least one of these two fields:

  • Innovation in climate finance, contributing to research themes on 'money where it matters', building the mechanisms and capabilities to access GCF, mobilising private finance for climate resilient and low emission enterprises 
  • Innovation in mechanisms tackling issues at the climate, development and humanitarian interface, such as risk finance in social protection system
  • Approaches to build southern institutional climate capabilities and support to learning platform

The Climate Change research group is seeking an assistant coordinator to provide administrative, logistics, and finance support and production coordination for the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (LIFE-AR) project and general coordination to the team on a fixed-term (nine months) part-time (21 hours a week) basis. This post is particularly suitable for candidates interested in a career path in project management and research support. This post is based in Edinburgh preferably, but can be London based if the candidate is unable to relocate.
