Early careers programme
IIED is launching an early careers programme for people wanting to start a career with an organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable development.

IIED’s early careers programme will provide permanent, entry-level roles in research and project management, open to both graduates and non-graduates.
This programme replaces the internships, apprenticeships, work experience and volunteer opportunities we previously offered. We will advertise the new positions on our recruitment portal.
Valuing new careers routes
The early careers programme is an initiative to introduce an additional pathway into careers at IIED.
We value the fresh ideas, perspectives and diversity of thought that different people can bring to the organisation. We are actively working to promote diversity and inclusion by creating equal opportunities for people from under-represented groups to begin professional careers at IIED.
We are exploring alternatives to the more traditional routes to employment, such as the standard recruitment processes or the requirement for masters and PhD qualifications for researchers. This means placing greater emphasis on values and principles in our selection processes.
