National Report on Mainstreaming Biodiversity into Development Planning Initiative Malawi
This report summarises a national multi-stakeholder workshop held in December 2015 in Malawi and follow-up activities as part of a regional project under the Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Development Policy and Planning initiative. It identifies the revision of Malawi’s Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS), revision of the National Land Policy, the revision of Environmental Impact Assessment Guidelines (and development of regulations), and the National Adaptation Plan as opportunities to include biodiversity as a priority issue and sets an ambition to enhance awareness of biodiversity and increase resource allocation.
