Workshop programme: Rights, power and equity in the design of REDD+

IIED will be hosting a workshop alongside the 19th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP19). This programme gives details of the workshop, which will be looking at rights, power and equity in the design of REDD+.

REDD+ could bring benefits to poor, forest-dependent communities. But this is by no means guaranteed. This event will examine how REDD+ policy processes, private sector participation, and design of local interventions can be made more equitable and gender-sensitive. It will draw from collaborative research in Africa, Asia and Latin America by IIED and partners.
