Adaptation fund under the KP: mature for concrete implementation of projects and direct access

Both scientifically proven as well as painfully felt all around the world, climate change is happening now, and in many regards faster than IPCC AR4 indicated1. The associated impacts affect most intensely the poor of this world, which ironically have contributed the least to global warming. Adaptation to the consequences of climate change is essential for survival and indispensable to safeguard development progress in poverty reduction and the fight against hunger. Strengthening their ability to adapt to the impact of climate change is realised as a key factor for poor countries and most vulnerable people.
