The author of this paper conducted a hydrological assessment of the Talvan water catchment in order to consider the past and current land use practices, and the extent of watercourse degradation and its impact on water quality and quantity in the Talvan catchment. The assessment also considered the impact of the intervention activities of the Talvan Water Catchment Group1. This paper presents a watershed and hydrology assessment along with an integrated management plan for the catchment, in support of determination of the value of watershed protection services towards the eventual development of market-based incentives for watershed management.
