REDAA impact strategy

This impact strategy draws on experience to date within the Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia (REDAA) programme.

The REDAA programme is demonstrating that support for locally-led nature restoration is a key to unlocking cost-effective combined benefits for biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, local livelihoods, gender equality and social inclusion.

It is now also clear REDAA has the potential to install support for locally-led nature restoration in systems, policy and organisational practices with transformational impact. This strategy identifies the main pathways through which these impacts can be delivered.

REDAA is funded by the UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) through its Global Research and Technology Development (GRTD) portfolio and managed by IIED.

The strategy was written in collaboration with the REDAA team at IIED, all REDAA-supported project lead partners and colleagues at FCDO.
