Bundling agri-food systems innovations for women's resilience and empowerment - Building the evidence base
Successful outcomes for agri-food systems and the communities that rely on them are dependent on a whole range of factors and situations. Innovative technologies must align with these to stand any chance of achieving the goal of healthy, equitable, resilient and sustainable systems. These interventions can be better understood and applied using so-called ‘socio-technical innovation bundles’, or STIBs.
This working paper looks at the experiences of women, particularly in marginalised situations, and the outcomes that are possible for them and their families. It proposes a practical framework to support researchers and others, and invites practitioners to trial this so that a much-needed evidence base can be built.
