Wanted: monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) officer for IIED Europe

IIED Europe is hiring a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) officer, who will support the MEL manager in delivering projects implemented by IIED Europe, particularly the Horizon Europe project Pathways2Resilience.

The Pathways2resilience project aims to increase the climate resilience of 150 European regions and communities, closing the adaptation gap and triggering a wave of political commitments and adaptation innovations to meet the climate emergency.  

This is a great opportunity for a MEL professional with knowledge of the methodologies used in climate adaptation, and in the evaluation of policies and programmes.  

The successful candidate will have experience of designing and implementing qualitative (and quantitative) MEL and research approaches in the field of climate adaptation, along with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels, partners from different backgrounds and cultures, external bodies and the general public.

We can offer:  

  • Salary range of €37,900-43,700 pro rata, depending on experience  
  • Fixed term (three year), full-time contract with prospect of extension  
  • Central Amsterdam office location next to the Botanical Gardens  

Applicants must be based in the Netherlands and able to start immediately.
