Najma Mohamed

Policy director, Green Economy Coalition

Najma has a background in climate, environment and sustainable development and has been involved in designing, implementing and profiling transformative and inclusive approaches to policy and practice. She has worked in research, civil society and the public sector, at multi-levels and across geographies and economic sectors. This includes stakeholder facilitation and engagement in policy processes.

Current work

Najma leads on developing GEC's policy work, which is centred on building the coalition’s strategic focus on the supply and advocacy of policies, practices and institutions for inclusive green economies, in partnership with its 50-plus members.

She works across the major policy themes of a green economy transition including financial system reform; tackling inequality; valuing nature; economic sector reform; and governance – advancing new, transformative policies across these themes as pathways to systemic change.
