Preety has over 35 years of experience working on climate policy, economics finance and politics, and the interface with sustainable and human development.
She has mobilised strategic partnerships to achieve climate goals across a complex set of actors including the multilateral development banks, the UN system, think tanks and civil society.
Her achievements at TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute in India), the UNFCCC secretariat and the Asian Development Bank include the creation of institutional mechanisms as well as advocacy to align economic development investments with positive environment and climate outcomes, including resilience and reducing risks of disasters.
Current work
Preety is passionate about coaching and mentoring young colleagues from diverse backgrounds to successful careers in international climate change economics and politics.
She is currently providing strategic advice in varying capacities to the Gold Standard Foundation, UNEP, WRI India, CPI India, ClimateWorks Foundation and the Climate Policy Journal.
