Lilian works with the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (LIFE-AR) interim secretariat in IIED. Her role entails:

  • Providing direct technical support to the LIFE-AR frontrunner countries in the design and implementation of national delivery mechanisms to deliver the LDC 2050 Vision for resilience.
  • Supporting the interim secretariat’s work on integrating gender and social inclusion (GESI) in LIFE-AR

She also works across other programmes including the CRAKS project that aims to strengthen the agricultural adaptation knowledge system in Uganda.

Lilian is a member of IIED’s race and racism working group, where she is supporting the institute’s anti-racism agenda.

Current work

Working with Uganda’s ministry of water and environment to implement the devolved climate finance mechanism that aims to invest at least 70% of climate finance behind local priorities; working with actors across the agriculture value chain to strengthen the agricultural adaptation knowledge system in Uganda to build community resilience.
