Jonathan has over 30 years’ experience as a senior executive, executive director and trustee with non-profits in the humanitarian and development field.

Following a ten-year business career focused on the Middle East and Africa, he worked for ActionAid, BESO and People In Aid until 2015. While at People In Aid he co-led the development of the Core Humanitarian Standard, now the sector’s quality standard. This was followed by interim and consultancy work for organisations such as GNDR, Muslim Aid, UNICEF, the European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, VSO and Qatar Charity.

He has managed and chaired many intra-agency initiatives and has served on non-profit boards since 1997.

Jonathan’s first degree was in Oriental studies, his Masters is in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
