Jim Skea is chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which IIED is hosting. 

From 2015 to 2023, Jim was co-chair of Working Group III of the IPCC, focusing on climate change mitigation. Until 2023, he chaired Scotland’s Just Transition Commission and was a founding member of the UK’s Committee on Climate Change. 

He is also an emeritus professor at Imperial College London.
