Development and Climate Days Annual Film Festival

Film festival poster 11-14 December 2009 9am till 6pm everydayThe Development and Climate Film Festival provides a platform for amateur and independent film-makers from around the world to showcase short films on issues relating to climate change. They raise awareness, share ideas, and convey important messages in a creative and engaging way.

The film festival was originally launched as a parallel event to the Development and Climate Days at COP13 in Bali in 2007. The screenings are often attended by the film-makers giving a chance for the audience to ask questions directly and take part in the ongoing debates. 2008's event was hugely popular attended by more than 200 people over the two days. Categories included activism, animation, disaster, humour and participatory video.

The 2009 film festival will run over the weekend 12-13 December. A summary of the schedule is available below.

We hope to make as many films as we can available on the website. Here is a taster from this year's entries. An island in the Philippines is struck by the Amihan monsoon. The locals are a bit confused since the monsoon was supposed to end a month earlier...
