IIED events offer the opportunity to learn about the key current issues in environment and development. We use social media to provide ways for our audiences around the world to participate and benefit from our events.

Where possible we enable our virtual audience to follow event proceedings in real time and interact with speakers via our social media platforms.

Our October Critical Theme seminar is about how the media have been reporting on the connections between migration, climate change and the conflict in Syria. The keynote speaker Alex Randall is programme manager at the Climate and Migration Coalition, an alliance of refugee, human rights, and migration rights organisations. Randall will argue that the story presented about the connection between climate change and the Syrian conflict has not always been accurate
