Nafisa has over a decade of experience in advocacy, governance and movement building in the international development sector.

She is currently at ActionAid UK where she leads on climate advocacy and gender responsive climate finance. Her governance expertise includes previously serving as a trustee at Imkaan, where she co-led strategic planning, secured long-term funding, and championed transformative feminist leadership models. 

Passionate about addressing inequalities at the intersection of climate and social justice, she founded a community-led tree-planting initiative in East Africa to tackle drought and promote adaptation to long-term climate shocks.
