Oversee compliance, due diligence, audits and report to the board, including supporting FACT and its grants to develop and maintain institutional policies and capacity to implement programs in an adequate control environment and ensure FACT complies with USAID rules and regulations as well as other funders’ requirements. Take the lead in planning, implementing, and monitoring timely award, grant or contract close-out.
- Grants and compliance officer, Catholic Relief services
Oversee grants and compliance including submission and approval process for sub-award packages; Conducting grant’s solicitation workshops & orientation sessions, grants evaluations, training CRS employees and sub-recipients on any changes in the USAID rules and regulations; identifying gaps in the procurement, financial, HR and compliance and organising trainings and revising SOPs to accommodate changes in regulations. Also acted as the custodian of standard operating procedures and fostering implementation in its entirety.

Current work
- Provide compliance and monitoring support to LIFE-AR stakeholders, alongside identifying opportunities for compliance improvement.
- Acting as the custodian of the standard operating procedures, leading on the support of the LIFE-AR secretariat team and also support national platforms in designing policies and processes for implementing LIFE-AR, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Identify and collate proposals for strengthening standard operating procedures, often as a result of changes in regulations. Developing revisions to these procedures and implement new policies as required.
- Deliver an innovative and inclusive approach to compliance with a system that has been co-designed with the least developed countries who will be complying with it and co-design processes that work for those most affected by climate impacts.
- Implement a strong compliance framework for LIFE-AR building on the standard operating procedures manual.
- Support the establishment of a new independent not-for-profit organisation for LIFE-AR.
- Conduct due diligence where needed and provide clear action plans for grantees to strengthen their institutions.
- Undertake grant-management duties.
