Paul George

Paul has been a trustee of IIED since 2021, most of that time as vice chair of the board. Alongside his work with IIED he chairs Calm Mediation, London's leading Community Mediation and Restorative Justice charity and serves on the board of Oxford Policy Management; he was previously a trustee at ActionAid UK. 

Between 2010 and 2020, he led PwC’s international development practice, a role in which he first got to know IIED as a partner on long-running DFID programmes. Alongside his board work Paul is a writer and a historian. Professionally, he is a chartered accountant.

He took over as chair of the trustees on 2 September, replacing Tara Shine.
