Clair brings over 20 years of expertise in communications, marketing strategy, digital outreach, audience development, events, and senior management, with extensive experience in the not-for-profit and publishing sectors.

Before IIED

Marketing manager at several academic publishers and membership organisations, including the BMJ and Earthscan, and, most recently, user engagement manager at SciDev.Net, promoting online news, views and analysis for the developing world.

Current work

Clair leads audience development and marketing strategy to enhance stakeholder outreach and engagement with both existing and new audiences, aiming to amplify IIED's influence and strengthen the impact of its work. 

She designs integrated communications plans, oversees flagship events such as the Barbara Ward Lecture and Development and Climate Days at the climate COP, manages the collection of data and marketing insights, and contributes to brand management, ensuring IIED’s profile and strategic positioning are elevated globally.
