Research and action for locally led nature restoration
Active Project
Beth is a programme manager with over 15 years’ experience managing and supporting research projects. She oversees the operations of large, complex programmes at IIED, striving to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality research and action. Her interests are in sustainable nature restoration, biodiversity, ecology and citizen science.
Finance; donor compliance; contracts; project and programme planning; resource allocation; risk management; programme governance; grant fund management; granting mechanisms; consortium coordination; due diligence.
Before IIED, Beth worked at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine delivering research administration and coordination for a portfolio of international, collaborative malaria (2012-16) and diagnostics (2008-12) research projects.
Prior to that she began her career at the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Unit at UCL (2006-08) as PA/team administrator and events coordinator.
Education
Beth’s current work at IIED includes managing an ambitious granting programme 'Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia' (REDAA), which supports research and action in sub-Saharan Africa and South and Southeast Asia by offering grants and facilitating mutual learning between partners. REDAA funds work that is locally led, interdisciplinary, and focused on solutions for ecosystem restoration and climate resilience, enabling people and nature to thrive.
