UN climate negotiations video update: Trying to find "common ground"
This is the last video update from Saleemul Huq, Senior Fellow of IIED's climate change group, from Durban, South Africa where high-level Ministers have arrived and are making statements. He highlights achievements in the video and also two issues that remain unresolved at the UN Climate talks: the Green Climate Fund on which “there is hope there will be agreement”, and a second commitment period for the Kyoto Protocol, in exchange for some commitment by countries such as China, Brazil and South Africa. “The South Africans are trying to find some common ground, but it’s going to be very difficult.”
