Using the multimedia on this site Video The video on this site is best viewed over a broadband connection of 300kbps or above. We have tried to strike a balance between accessibility and bandwidth. To view the video requires the 'Flashplayer' browser plug-in to be installed on the users machine. The majority of todays browsers have a version built in as standard. If the video does not play correctly, the latest version, which offers substantially improved video quality, is available as a free download from www.macromedia.com (be sure to deselect the option to install the 'Yahoo' toolbar if not required). The download/installation process is a simple task for the user. The download is 480Kb, and the download page will play an animation to demonstrate the installation has been successful. The software does not interfere with any other installed software. With a broadband connection the process should take less than 5 minutes. If the automatic installation process is not successful, you can download the full Flash/Shockwave installer program. Audio The audio files on this site are in the popular 'mp3' format. These will play in all media players. The average file size is 1.4 Mb, making them accessible to users on dial-up connections as well as broadband. The files can be saved to the users machine by right-clicking on the link and selecting 'save target as' (or similar depending on the browser in use).
