Mining, Minerals and Sustainable Development 10 years on: MMSD +10

Ten years on from the Mining, Minerals and Sustainable Development (MMSD) project, IIED is inviting stakeholders to contribute thoughts on how well the mining sector has achieved MMSD’s ambitions and to identify ongoing and new challenges. Please contribute and help bring key voices together, learn from past experiences and help shape the agenda for the future.

Our new discussion paper, MMSD+10: Reflecting on a decade, is intended to kick-start reflections and conversation with key stakeholders. The research is based on the perspectives of just a few stakeholders and initial independent research. It raises many questions about how well the mining industry has put sustainable development theory into practice. These pages and a series of blogs over the coming months will highlight apparent progress and barriers, and discuss where we might go next.

Join the first discussion on MMSD +10 by adding your comment to the blog post: Mining's search for sustainability: how far have we come?

All the MMSD material, including the Working Paper Series, final reports, regional reports, project bulletins and workshop notes are available for free download.
