Senior researcher (legal tools, Natural Resources group)
The purpose of this role will be to develop and manage action research programmes that will strengthen local rights and promote sustainable development in the governance of land and investment. The role will include leading the design, implementation and monitoring of policy-orientated action-research and conducting collaborative research with colleagues and/or partner organisations in low- and middle-income countries.
To succeed in this role you will have a postgraduate degree in law, political economy or development studies with a focus on law. You will be a legal or socio-legal expert within an international development context, with a focus on the governance of land/natural resources/agribusiness/natural resource investments in low and middle income countries.
You will have proven skills in research and active promotion of research findings and a sustained track record in securing funding for different projects from a variety of donors. You will have a working knowledge of French and fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to build relationships with colleagues and partners from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures; and communicate with and inspire both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
