About the COP :

IIED and FIELD are at COP13, the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bali, Indonesia. Negotiators have a two-year window in which to agree a successor to the convention’s Kyoto Protocol. Time is running out to take action on climate change so it is essential that the voices and views of the world’s poorest people are not excluded.

Before the meeting, IIED and FIELD will be helping to prepare negotiators from Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States for the talks ahead.

During the meeting, IIED and partners will hold the annual Development and Climate Days weekend event, with presentations on energy, cities, health, food and agriculture, community-based adaptation, disaster reduction/extreme events and financing adaptation.

IIED has also teamed up with Panos and Internews to create the Climate Change Media Partnership. This is bringing 35 journalists from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean to Bali to report on the meeting. We will be providing editorial support, daily briefing and helping the journalists to make contact with key experts
