Silvia Charpentier

Board of trustees

Silvia Charpentier is a member of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Costa Rica, and represents the bank in the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
Full biography

She coordinates two climate projects in Costa Rica: one in carbon pricing instruments (Partnership for Market Readiness), and a readiness project for the Green Climate Fund. She is an economist and her current interests include responsible sustainable finance and fiscal policy climate coherence.

Previously, she was member of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica and alternate executive director at the World Bank. In addition to climate action, her work has focused both on conservation finance and policy in Latin America, and on international finance.
