Full biography

Specialist in tenders and grant fundraising with over a decade of experience developing environmental charitable projects, including sustainable energy, behaviour change and nature recovery.

Expertise

Tenders and grant fundraising for environmental projects, particularly engaging communities; developing supporting tools and processes for business development.

Before IIED

Ruth worked in fundraising roles for UK environmental charities including the Conservation Volunteers, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Global Action Plan, and in flood resilience at the Environment Agency.

Education

  • Diploma in fundraising (distinction), Chartered Institute of Fundraising
  • MSc in crisis and disaster management (distinction), University of Portsmouth
  • BSc environmental sciences with a year in Australasia (first class), University of East Anglia

Current work

Ruth supports the Natural Resources and Human Settlements research groups to secure funds to support their work.
