Expertise

Fiona’s experience spans the international development, environment and university sectors. She has a strong understanding of the context of each of these sectors, and expertise that includes project management and resourcing, financial management and reporting, donor compliance, and communications.

Before IIED

Before moving to the law, economies and justice programme, Fiona was a programme manager in IIED’s biodiversity team and climate change research group.

Other previous roles have included research and research management at UCL (University College London); and campaigns, communications and project management at Oxfam, Friends of the Earth and Panos London.

Current work

Fiona is programme manager for the law, economies and justice programme in the Natural Resources research group, working alongside the head of programme. She is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the programme and team, focusing on human resources, business development, risk and compliance.

Fiona also provides the secretariat function for IIED’s research strategy team and research ethics committee, working closely with the chairs of both to devise agendas and workplans.
