Cinzia Cimmino

Programme manager (inclusive green economy and energy), Shaping Sustainable Markets

Cinzia provides overall management for the incentives for an inclusive green economy and the energy teams, leading on financial management and funders and partners' contract negotiations, and applying institutional and donor frameworks to develop and deliver the team’s portfolio of projects. She also co-chairs the coordination organising group, one of IIED's operational groups that comprises all project management staff.

Full biography

Cinzia is a grant and project manager with more than 12 years’ experience of working in the development sector on large-scale programmes and with experience of working in Africa, East and South Asia, and South America.

Expertise

Project and grant management, monitoring and analysis of complex budgets, managing relationships and negotiating contracts with partners and funders.

Before IIED

Before joining IIED, Cinzia developed and managed the financial administration of ClientEarth’s multi-million grants portfolio; led on the financial management of the budget strengthening initiative project (BSI) at the Overseas Development Institute, and was finance officer at Peace Brigades International’s secretariat in London.

Current work

Programme manager of the incentive for inclusive green economy and energy teams, leading on managing operations, budgets, financial monitoring and reporting, contracts, risk, compliance, and communications for their wide network of partners and funders relationships.

Current projects include 'Debt management for nature and climate', which involves West Africa coastal countries, and 'Energy enabling green development and recovery in Kitui County, Kenya'.

Cinzia is also involved in the development and implementation of the finance and business development operational strategies, contributing to the development of institutional processes and policies.
