The meeting, which took place at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales' Great Hall, in London, focused on mainstreaming green economies.

Leaders from civil society, media, policy and business assessed and discussed the status of the transition to green economies across the world on day one, including a test of the pitch for green economy to 'People and Power' and an examination of the current progress towards the reform of the financial system.

The draft agenda is available to download. Coverage of the event as it happened can be found in Storify format and in the presentation below.

Among the session discussions were:

  • Details of the acceleration of green economy national plans with Fulai Sheng – head of the Research and Partnerships Unit of UNEP

  • The current politics of climate change with Sir David King – special representative for climate change, UK Foreign Office

  • The economics of transformation with Sarah Chapman – chief of staff, New Climate Economy Commission

  • The role of civil society action with Melissa Leach – director, Institute of Development Studies.

There were also sessions on financial system change, and a panel of finance, private sector and civil society commentators. The second day was a strategy meeting for GEC members and invited partners only.
