Latest urban newsletter is out now

Read the urban IIED newsletter, which rounds up all of our news, blogs, publications and latest projects. The newsletter is produced every two months by IIED's Human Settlements research group.

In this July edition we profile the important work of the Urban Africa Risk Knowledge (ARK) project, a three-year international research and capacity building programme focusing on risk reduction in sub-Saharan African cities.

We also feature news on our relationship with the Coalition for Urban Transitions, highlight reflections from the ICLEI Resilient Cities Congress 2017, and provide links to a suite of new free resources from the Stronger Cities Initiative, which aims to put urban response principles into practice.

Read about views on measuring poverty, Bloomberg's public health initiative, how cities can become more resilient during crises, reducing risks in urban centres and how cities can increase their resource efficiency. As always, we feature our latest publications, plus this issue we highlight the vital work that our long-standing partner Slum/Shack Dwellers International (SDI) is doing.
