A day of sharing ASM knowledge

Throughout Thursday, June 25, IIED created an online space for dialogue and sharing knowledge and information about the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sector.

The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) used its online networks to host the day dedicated to ASM and connect mining communities across the globe.

As part of IIED's ASM policy dialogues, we provided a neutral space for key stakeholders, including artisanal and small-scale miners themselves, to identify solutions and develop a shared vision for a more inclusive, sustainable and productive mining sector.

During the day, we shared aspects of our research and knowledge, including interviews with key stakeholders who attended a 'visioning workshop' in April. But, more importantly, other stakeholders got involved by sharing their views and research using the hashtag #shareASM.

We provided a round-up of the day via Storify – you can read updates below. A list of resources can be found underneath.
