Active Project
Fiona has more than 20 years of experience in the non-governmental and university sectors, focusing on international development, the environment and cooperation.
She has a strong understanding of the context of these sectors, and expertise that spans project management and resourcing, financial management and reporting, donor compliance and communications.
Fiona has a particular interest in relationships between organisations working in international development, and the political economy of international development funding.
Before moving to her current head of programme delivery role, and to LIFE-AR, Fiona worked at IIED as a project and programme manager in the law, economies and justice, the climate governance and finance, and the biodiversity teams.
Fiona's roles at other organisations have included research and research management at University College London (UCL), and campaigns, communications and project management at Oxfam, Friends of the Earth and Panos London. She has also lived and worked in Nepal.
Education
As head of programme delivery, Fiona works closely with Lucy Earle on areas of work covering cities, migration, food and forests. Fiona is also acting head of operations and partnerships the interim secretariat for LIFE-AR - the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience in relation to climate change.
She works closely with leadership, project and programme management, focusing on operations. Some of her central responsibilities are the creation and development of standards and processes, oversight of project and programme management resourcing, and financial and compliance-related risk.
