The Academic Advisory Group of the Section on Energy & Natural Resources Law, International Bar Association and MMSD co-funded a conference on May 25-27, 2001 at Vermont Law School to present and critique a series of 15 or more cutting-edge papers of legal research and practical guidance on Public Participation in 21st Century Mining and Energy Development Law. The papers focused on both macro-overarching themes as well as key country-regional perspectives, the latter including Africa, China, Japan, North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
