Who Are We?
The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is an independent, not-for-profit research organisation leader in sustainable development.
What Do We Do?
In alliance with others we seek to help shape a future that ends global poverty and delivers and sustains efficient and equitable management of the world's natural resources. For more information about our work, please see our annual report and research pages.
Where Are We?
Based in Central London and a small office in Edinburgh.
How Big Are We?
IIED currently has 81 permanent staff from a wide range of different countries and backgrounds, and is continuing to grow. Please see our Staff List for more information. We also have a number of fixed-term employees, international fellows, interns and volunteers each year. In 2007-08, our income was £11.3m.
Working Life
IIED aims to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all areas of the community. We have a relaxed but focused working environment with a number of social events throughout the year.
