Fair Ideas: Focus - Sharing pro-poor sustainable energy solutions
16th June. 13.30–15.45
Language: English
Participating Organisations: Christian Aid, Practical Action, Friends of the Earth EWNI, HIVOS, Renewable World, World Future Council, Heinrich Boell Foundation, IIED, STEPS Centre
A series of four discussions on Day 1 of Fair ideas will provide a focus on sharing pro-poor sustainable energy solutions. These will explore a the potential of various tools to improve energy access in the global South — from feed-in tariffs and low carbon energy pathways to innovative energy delivery models. The discussions will also feature case studies and practical examples from around the world — to highlight lessons learnt from experience and gain insight into what works, and what doesn’t, to deliver energy services to the poorest. The results of these discussions will feed in to the 4pm forward-looking session ‘Access to energy: beyond 2012’, in Room Anchieta
