Project Purpose

The purpose of this project is to monitor the biodiversity and socio-economic impact of the ICMS Ecológico in Brazil.

Focus

The ICMS Ecológico is a fiscal incentive for biodiversity conservation whereby municipal governments are compensated for the loss of potential tax revenue from the designation of protected areas.
