Rural and land use planning
For more than a decade, SPA has worked to promote more sustainability-orientated approaches to rural and land use planning, integrated planning (e.g. for spatial areas such as river basins), and interaction between rural and urban planning processes.
Past activities include:

Studies of floodplain water management in Bangladesh, with a focus on the Flood Action Plan

Review of rural planning in the developing world with a special focus on natural resources and potential contributions to sustainable livelihoods
